Infrastructure security solutions in Dubai, UAE
Our infrastructure security solutions harden the servers, networks and appliances you already run, segment them so that a compromise of one system is contained, and continue the patching and monitoring after the project ends.

Infrastructure security starts with a complete inventory
An infrastructure security engagement begins with discovery. The existing asset list is taken as a starting point, and active scanning across the network ranges is used to find the systems that are not on it.
Discovery identifies servers without an owner, appliances past end of support and network devices on default credentials. It also identifies systems that the business depends on but that have not been documented.
The inventory is the first deliverable, and the remediation priorities are set from it. Each system is given an owner, because a system with no owner cannot be scheduled for patching, rebooting or replacement.
Infrastructure security services we deliver
Scope follows what the assessment finds. The services below can be delivered as a project, as a managed service, or as a combination of the two.
Build hardening
Server, workstation and appliance builds are brought to a defined baseline, covering vendor default settings and temporary exceptions that remain in place.
Patch management
Deployment in rings with a documented rollback at each stage. Exceptions are recorded with an owner and a compensating control.
Configuration review
Running configuration is checked against the baseline on a cycle, because configuration drifts after the initial hardening.
Certificate and firmware lifecycle
Certificate expiry and firmware end-of-support dates are tracked in advance, which removes a common cause of outage.
Network segmentation
Boundaries are designed from observed traffic and the control you report on, and enforced in stages so that any problem can be traced to a specific change.
Firewall management
Policy design, rule base review and change control across your firewall estate, including estates with more than one vendor.
Zero Trust architecture
Access is decided on identity, device state and risk at the time of each request, in place of access granted by position on the network.
Privileged access control
Standing administrative rights on infrastructure are withdrawn and replaced with elevation that is granted for a task, recorded and withdrawn.
SIEM deployment and tuning
Log sources are connected, retention is set to match your obligations and detection rules are tuned before handover, so the alert queue is workable from the first day.
Intrusion detection and prevention
Network-level detection is positioned where it sees the relevant traffic and tuned for the environment.
Endpoint protection
Coverage across servers and workstations, with protective settings moved from audit mode into enforcement.
DNS and web filtering
Outbound DNS and web traffic is filtered and logged, which covers a layer that many attacks pass through.
Vulnerability management
Scanning, prioritisation by exploitability and remediation tracking, so that findings are closed and the backlog is measured.
Data loss prevention
Policy across endpoints and infrastructure is written for the data you hold and run in monitor mode before it is enforced.
Device management
Corporate and personal devices are placed under configuration and compliance policy, linked to conditional access so that the policy is enforced.
Managed operation
Patch cycles, policy administration, configuration review and monitoring run by our team in Dubai under agreed response times.
Common infrastructure assessment findings
These four types of finding are common in a first assessment.
How an infrastructure engagement runs
What exists is established before anything is designed, using active discovery as well as the existing asset list.
- Active discovery across network ranges, in addition to the existing asset list
- Each system given an owner, so that it can be scheduled for remediation or a reboot
- End-of-support hardware identified early, because it needs budget as well as configuration
Running configuration is measured against a hardening baseline appropriate to each platform.
- Settings read from live systems
- Default credentials and unmanaged appliances listed first
- Findings ranked by what is reachable
Before any segmentation is enforced, the traffic between systems is observed and recorded.
- Observation run long enough to include month-end and other periodic traffic
- Flows mapped to applications and owners so that exceptions can be confirmed
- The design written from observed traffic
Hardening and segmentation are applied in stages with a documented rollback at each one.
- Monitor mode first wherever the platform supports it
- One zone or one build group at a time, so that a problem can be attributed
- Rollback documented before each stage begins
Detection is positioned where it sees the relevant traffic, and patching runs to a schedule with named owners.
- Log sources connected in order of the detections they enable
- Patch rings defined with a test group that represents production
- Exceptions recorded with an owner, a reason and a compensating control
Configuration review, patch cycles and policy administration continue after the project, because configuration drifts without them.
- Configuration re-measured against the baseline on a cycle
- Firewall rule base reviewed periodically, because permissive rules accumulate
- End-of-support dates tracked in advance
Infrastructure controls UAE frameworks examine
Several UAE requirements map directly to infrastructure settings, and each can be checked by an assessor against the running configuration.
UAE Information Assurance Standards
The IAS expects segmentation, hardening, patch management, logging and monitoring, and treats several of these as priority controls. Each configuration change is mapped to the control it satisfies as the work proceeds, so the evidence pack exists before it is requested.
DESC ISR
Dubai government and semi-government bodies are examined on network control, hardening standards and log retention. Retention is set to the period the standard requires.
PCI DSS
Cardholder environments carry prescriptive requirements on segmentation, default credentials, patching timeframes and logging. Segmentation is designed to the boundary an assessor will test.
ISO 27001 and NCIIP
Certified organisations and operators of essential services both need documented configuration standards and evidence that they are applied, mapped to the relevant control.
Why choose iConnect for infrastructure security
Discovery before design
The estate is inventoried by active discovery before anything is recommended, and the remediation priorities are set from that inventory.
Traffic observed before segmentation
Segmentation boundaries are designed from observed traffic, including month-end and other periodic flows, and enforced in stages.
Configuration over capital
Much of the work is configuration: segmentation, access control, hardening and patching. Hardware that is past end of support is identified separately, with a replacement plan.
Exceptions recorded
A server that cannot be patched is recorded with an owner and a compensating control, so it stays visible on the schedule.
Hardening is maintained
Configuration is re-measured against the baseline on a cycle after handover, so that drift is detected and corrected.
Vendor-neutral
iConnect deploys and manages firewall and endpoint platforms from more than one vendor, including Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks, and assesses your exposure before recommending a product.
Sectors we secure
What can be patched, rebooted or segmented, and when, differs by sector, and those constraints shape the remediation plan.

Government
DESC hardening standards and long-lived systems with limited change windows.

Banking and Finance
Cardholder segmentation and core banking systems with narrow outage tolerance.

Healthcare
Clinical systems and medical devices that cannot be patched on a normal cycle.

Manufacturing
Plant networks where a reboot has a production cost.

Retail and E-commerce
Many sites, limited local IT and payment segments that must stay separate.

Education
Open networks, ageing hardware and a large unmanaged device population.
What our clients say

With an inventory, because a system has to be identified before it can be hardened. Discovery scans the network ranges for servers, appliances and network devices, including systems that are out of support or missing from the existing asset list. The first deliverable is a record of what exists, what it runs and who owns it, and the remediation priorities are set from that record.
A penetration test reports what an attacker could reach. Infrastructure security is the work that reduces that exposure: hardening builds, closing segmentation gaps, establishing patch discipline and adding monitoring where it is missing. The two services can be bought in either order. Hardening first reduces the number of findings in a later test.
Much of the work is configuration: segmentation designed properly, administrative access controlled, builds hardened to a baseline, and patching that runs on a schedule with failures followed up. Where hardware is past end of support, the assessment identifies it separately, because that item needs a replacement plan and budget.
Deciding which systems must communicate with which others, and enforcing only that. The first step is to observe the traffic that currently flows between systems, because the existing diagram may be incomplete. The design is then written against the control you report on, and enforced in stages so that any problem can be traced to a specific change.
Patches are deployed in rings on a published schedule: a test group first, then a wider group, then the remaining systems, with a documented rollback at each stage. Exceptions, such as an application that cannot take an update or a server that cannot be rebooted in the window, are recorded with an owner and a compensating control so they remain on the schedule.
Yes. Patch cycles, firewall policy administration, certificate and firmware lifecycle, configuration review and monitoring can run as a managed service from our team in Dubai. Continued operation matters because configuration drifts over time, and a hardened environment needs to be re-measured against its baseline on a cycle.
Yes. The Information Assurance Standards expect segmentation, hardening, patch management, logging and monitoring, and DESC ISR applies comparable requirements to Dubai government bodies. Each configuration change is mapped to the control it satisfies as the work proceeds, so the evidence is available when an assessor asks for it.
Assessment and inventory are scoped at two to four weeks. Remediation depends on what is found and is staged over one or two quarters. Segmentation is generally the longest item, because traffic has to be observed before the boundaries can be enforced safely.
